The Colt M1911, most commonly known as the Colt .45, and simply the 1911 is an American-made, semi-automatic, recoil-operated handgun chambered in .45 ACP designed by John Browning and initially adopted by the United States military in the year 1911 (hence the designation, Automatic Pistol, Caliber .45, M1911). The legacy of the handgun, combined with over a century of relevant usage, has made the 1911 a famous gun of its own merit.
Known as the Star .45 in Far Cry 2, and the 1911 in Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4, Far Cry 5, and Far Cry New Dawn. The .45 ACP handgun is a mainstay of the series.
