A Leap of Faith is a main story mission in Far Cry 5. It takes place in Faith Seed's region of Henbane River. Well sort of. Most of it takes place in the mind of The Junior Deputy. The mission becomes available at some point in Faith's region during a time when the deputy is high on Bliss. It will start automatically.
- Show your Faith and Jump
This mission starts when the Deputy has enough resistance points in the Henbane river region. The Deputy will become high on Bliss and will start to hallucinate a ‘paradise’. Faith will greet the player by saying she knows that others have referred to her as a ‘liar and manipulator’. During the cutscene Faith will explain to you, as she claims, her past and how Joseph saved her and gave her purpose. She then takes the Deputy to the Word of Joseph where Marshal Burke is. Suggesting to the Deputy to ‘walk the path’, Burke falls over the edge of the statue’s book.
The player regains control but no choice is given: the player must jump off the edge of the book. When they do, Faith will promise to ‘set them free’. The player hits the ground and the hallucination ends.
If the Deputy has not cleared the Hope County jail, they will awaken outside the jail. If they have, they will awaken surrounded by dead bodies of those who did not survive the fall at the statue of Joseph. Faith will speak to the player again, suggesting they ‘walk the path’ and says she will ‘see them soon’.
- This mission is reminiscent of Matthew 4:4-7 in the Bible. When Jesus was tempted by the Devil, the Devil took Jesus to the highest pinnacle of the Temple, and tried to goad him into throwing himself down, because if he was really the Son of God, God would intervene, and prevent him from dying.
- It is also possible the name of the mission is a reference to Assassin's Creed, another game franchise made by Ubisoft.
- It is possible for Faith to give this mission instead of being forced into it.
- The scene in the mission is a reference to Assassin's Creed's Leap of Faith game mechanic.
