Alejandro Montero is the distant son of Carlos Montero, and a former research scientist working under José Castillo in Biovida.
As Carlos was dying from cancer, he spent the final moment saving his son Alejandro from being publicly executed by José Castillo. José planned the public execution in front of Lobo memorial at town square by hanging Alejandro from "barrel of Yara's might" and then finish with an explosion. Carlos successfully saved his son from the hanging and the explosion, but not himself. As Carlos rode away with Alejandro during the fight, upon seeing C-4 strapped to Alejandro, Carlos removed the explosives, threw his son off the horse to give him a fighting chance, and rode further off until he was blown up.

- According to the artbook, Alejandro is younger than Camila.
- Alejandro graduated from university 4 years before the game's events with a degree in science. After that he spent at least 3 years in the miliary.
- According to Montero Fragment II, he was always good at math and is obsessed with Viviro.
