« The BZ19 has solid power and accuracy. It doesn't have the fastest rate of fire in its class, but it does feature a large-capacity magazine capable of holding 64 rounds. »

In-Game Description

« The BZ19 sub machinegun is what you get when you take bits of an AK-74, shorten it, and slap on a high capacity “helical” magazine. Okay, the process may be a bit more complex than that (changing the letters A and K to B and Z took a lot of careful thought), but the end result is a weapon that holds 64 rounds of 9mm ammunition. »

Survival Guide

The BZ19 bridges the gap between assault rifles and submachine guns in Far Cry 3. Posessing low recoil, a moderate rate of fire, a large magazine, and decent lethality, the BZ19 is a highly versatile weapon that can easily become a "do-all" weapon when fully upgraded. Ammo is cheap, easily found, and the reload speed is very quick. This makes the BZ19 arguably the most useful general-purpose weapon in the game, easily outclassing all other assault rifles, submachine guns and light machine guns. It is only hampered by long-ranged engagements, where a sniper rifle would be a better choice, and extreme CQB fights, where shotguns dominate. Outside of these two niche areas, the BZ19 is superb in nearly every category.

It is used by the Privateers, specifically the Charger variant. It can be purchased outright for $1,800, or unlocked for free after activating 14 Radio Towers. However, Jason will have to make it to the South Rook Island before it will be available for purchase. Since there are just 11 Radio Towers in North Rook Island, it can only be unlocked after reaching South Rook Island, specifically, after completing the mission Fly South. Although the Shredder is unlocked sooner than the BZ19, it is worse in all aspects, having a smaller magazine, wasting ammo far faster, higher recoil, only marginally higher damage, and it is fairly expensive, rendering the Shredder basically obsolete once the BZ19 is obtained.

Paint Jobs[]

The look of BZ19 could be customized with one of six available paint schemes. Each scheme costs $200 and does not affect weapon performance.
