Bait

Overview

The Bait is an equipment in Far Cry 4, Far Cry Primal and Far Cry 5. It is a thrown piece of meat that will attract nearby predators.

The Bait is acquired through skinning animals, except small animals like Birds, Rats, Japaluras, and Snakes.

Bait has multiple uses: one is to throw it while hunting to spawn predators in the nearby area, but it can also be used against enemies by luring predators near them, who will then proceed to attack.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

Before there were Bait, there were Cybernetic Hearts with the same function in Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. Unlike Bait in later games, Cybernetic Hearts can be sold for credits.

Far Cry 5

Bait can be upgraded through the mission Clinical Study. It will distract Angels, but does not seem to cause them to spawn.

• In the map editor, predators will spawn close to the bait on the map even if one hasn't placed any animal on the map.
