Bembé Álvarez is the Black Market King of Yara and a minor antagonist in Far Cry 6.

Biography[]

According to Bembé, his father fought in the Communist Revolution of 1967 alongside Legends of 67 but then settled down for a career in Yaran military and stayed in the military all the way to 21st century even after Antón Castillo's regime returned to power once more. Ironically, another revolution erupted and got him killed, fitting the warning of "live by the sword, die by the sword" in Christianity which Bembé has been preaching.

According to the notes from Bembé's Secrets, despite his father fought in the communist revolution and have military connections, in late 1973 the Ministry of Development (in Yaran communist government under Santos Espinosa) still requisitioned the plantation owned by at least 1 "Sr. Alvarez" among Bembé relatives, pressured him to "do his family a favor" by taking the money then relocate elsewhere.

Far Cry 6[]

Paolo was indebted to Bembé as he needed money in order to save Talia. Dani Rojas agreed to help and considered the possibility of killing Bembé to clear Paolo debt, but Bembé convinced Dani to carry out some missions for him instead.

Trivia[]

  • Bembé took the place of Father Vasquez in the Church of Segunda by blackmailing him and threaten exposure.

"Attached message Father Vasquez the price of my silence is simply to borrow your collar and your church.  I am not a man of god, but I believe in a higher power.  The higher power is always at the side of the one who has all the cards in hand and, at this moment, that is me.  Remember, God may not see you, but I do.
