A mercenary to a scientist inside a laboratory.

Bunker is the seventh level in Far Cry.

Overview[]

Having finally entered the Bunker, Jack is informed that Valerie, whom he has come all this way to rescue, is soon going to be transported to another location. This means he has to get through the compound all the way to the landing strip before the mercenaries take off with her. Doyle also warns that the personnel is expecting Jack to come.

Screwed trigen lab

As Jack passes through a laboratory, he is shocked to find an apparently dead oversized Trigen,[1] unlike any one he has seen before, lying on a surgery table. Despite the fact that Doyle's intel doesn't bode well for Jack, it soon turns out the mercenaries are too busy fighting escaped Trigens to be actively hunting for him.

Bunker trigen release

Jack releases trigens to attack the guards

When Jack reaches the room with Trigen holding pens, Doyle suggests using the emergency release switch to open them, which would divert the guards' attention. The player has a choice to sneak into the control room on the upper level and open the cages to release the Trigens which will start attacking the mercenaries; or simply fight them right away.

Jack finds an exit from the bunker that leads straight to the helipad. He stealthily approaches the helicopter into which Valerie is being forced by two mercenaries. They take off immediately but Jack manages to grab onto a wheel in time. As the guards notice him, Valerie takes advantage of their being distracted to kick one of them off the aircraft. She quickly takes control of the situation by eliminating the remaining soldier. The brief gunfight also results in the pilot's death. With an unexpected kick to the face, she forces Jack to jump into the sea below them and follows him afterwards.

The night falls by the time they both meet at a beach after emerging from the water. Valerie introduces herself to Jack as a CIA agent who selected him as her companion to these islands due to his Special Forces background. She mentions an undercover operative with whom the agency lost contact about ten weeks ago. Suddenly, she recognizes his voice as Doyle calls Jack over the phone. Doyle tells them about nearby cages holding untrained Trigens and advises to release them so that the security forces are occupied with containing the mutants rather than pursuing Val and Jack. Jack is curious about the trained Trigens he deduced must exist, given that some are referred to as "untrained", but receives no explanation.
