Clara García

Clara García is the leader of Libertad.

Biography[]

Born to an upper class True Yaran family, Clara García used to be a journalist but left and became the leader of the resistance group, Libertad. She and her guerrillas are determined to defeat Antón Castillo and his regime in Yara, as Castillo regime brings back slavery in 21st century, undoing the slave revolt that began her country independence. While she is disdainful toward the US and did not seek their help in overthrowing Castillo regime, the US still help Libertad through the CIA nevertheless in order to smuggle shipments of Viviro. On her wanted poster, Castillo regime put a bounty of 2 500 000 Yaran Pesos.

Prior to the events of the game, Clara went to college at Espinosa University to study journalism, where she met Talía and graduated top of her class - this much was expected of her by her parents, her life arranged years before. This lead to a job at the Ministry of Culture, which she came to hate after realising how sheltered her life was, as a member of the Upper Class. Clara naïvely believed that her parents would support her exposing the lies of the Upper Class, but was wrong, and they publicly disowned her. She left her life behind to start a revolution, starting with a citizen blog which gradually became popular. After Santos Espinosa's death, she started organising and participating in protests, and won votes by opposing Antón Castillo.[1]

After Clara lost the election, with Antón winning with 52% of the votes, and she knew it had been rigged and her supporters had been murdered. She demanded a new round of elections, but was met with violence from Castillo's Army. After realising that she didn't stand a chance against the regime on her own, she formed Libertad, with the help of former guerrilla Juan Cortez. Juan organized an attack on the GDP Oil Platform but Castillo was one step ahead. His forces were waiting for them, and cut their group of 60 down to 6, either throwing the guerrillas they captured into Outcast Camps or killing them. Clara and her remaining forces retreated to Quito, Isla Santuario and were trapped on the island by Castillo's Quito Bay Blockade. Shortly after, Lita is sent to the Capital to get support, and when Dani returns to the island instead of her, Far Cry 6 begins.[1]

  • If Dani Rojas joins Libertad, Castillo regime would rapidly collapse within the later half of 2021. Unfortunately, Clara García dies before the work is done. Without her leadership, Libertad and other guerillas cannot hold the country together, Yara became unstable as remnants of Yaran military refuse to surrender, continue abusing civilians and fighting against Libertad across the country. The remnants of Yaran military often form insurgencies and seizing back control of certain unstable areas, which Libertad are too weak to do anything else than relying on Dani Rojas' efforts.
  • If Dani Rojas takes the boat to leave Yara and live in the US, Antón managed to live on for 3 more months, a news report can be heard about Antón claiming that his special forces killed Clara Garcia and that "war has ended in Yara." Whether that is true or not is left unverified due to Castillo regime tight censorship.
