Death Wish is a story mission in Far Cry 5.

Walkthrough[]
Whether based on local information or by pure luck, you may arrive at the Silver Lake Trailer Park and find a group of Resistance members held hostage, Merle Briggs among them. Once you clear out the threat, talk to Merle, who briefly rants about his knowing beforehand of the cult's danger, before admitting that the situation is as dire as ever. He wants to fight back against Eden's Gate and for that, he needs his truck, "The Death Wish", which the cult stole and locked up at their outpost at US Auto. Merle asks you to go ahead and clear it out, with the promise of reinforcements.
Once you manage to reach and liberate the outpost, Merle and his crew show up to garrison the place, though he laments that the Peggies had already made off with the truck prior to their arrival. Due to its extreme fuel thirst, he admits, the Peggies are most likely trying to fill her up at the nearby Golden Valley Gas depot.
Though they manage to reach the gas station, your arrival is noticed and the cult begins to escape in "The Death Wish" once again. Chase the car down and shoot the Peggies driving it, which will delight Merle. He decides to celebrate the reunion by immediately driving the new war machine over to the cult installation at the Reservoir Construction Yard and decimate the entire operation.
On the drive there, Merle goes off into another rant about his past misgivings about the Seeds and the treatment he received as a result of the general population's then-disbelief that Eden's Gate was a real threat. They get to the construction yard and proceed to wreck the cult's supplies of Bliss and their number. In the aftermath, Merle admits his respect for the Deputy and gives them the lease of "The Death Wish" to continue hurting the cult.
Notes[]
- If this mission is started after completing the mission The Cleansing, once rescued, Merle will make a statement about being rescued again by the Deputy, only to immediately start talking as if it's their first encounter.
- Though acquiring "The Death Wish" before it leaves Golden Valley seems possible, the placement of the vehicle in the open space, coupled with the enemies' line of sight, leaves most direct routes invalid.
- A stealthy approach through the woods from US Auto can give the Deputy a clean sniper shot at the driver through the windshield. This can result in successfully acquiring "The Death Wish" at Golden Valley Gas.
