In Far Cry: Beyond, you all play against a common enemy, and try to progress the story by completing varied objectives. In this new tabletop game set during the 80s, you will take on the mantle of six unlikely heroes, tasked with dismantling a criminal Soviet organization!
Gameplay[]
Far Cry: Beyond is part of a new kind of board game genre called a “looper”. A looper is a legacy game designed with heavy replayability in mind. Legacy games usually play into destructive dynamics to heighten the stakes of your game experience. That way, when faced with a branching path in the story, players must carefully consider their decisions – since they will often never be able to go back on their choice at all. In the new genre of "looper" games, you will be given tools to go back and start the game over from any unlocked checkpoint. Far Cry: Beyond though will have a non-linear, open-world narrative with branching paths.
As you progress through the story, you might make some new friends along the way. You will sometimes encounter new characters to join your crew. Unlock playable characters and non-playable characters, each with their unique high-quality miniature. There are tons of secret unlockables, including… pets? Who knows, long-time fans might even spot a few familiar faces. In Far Cry: Beyond, discovery is always just around the corner. The box will contain dozens of mysterious, sealed containers – envelopes, boxes, and more. Even the rulebook will evolve throughout the story! You can unlock new content and even new gameplay features by progressing through the game, including new abilities, loot, weapon upgrades, playable characters, and much more!
