The Islands of Yara are filled with tropical wildlife similar to those seen in Far Cry 3. New animals that make a first time appearance in the series include the Horse, Hutia, Mongoose, Flamingo, Pelican, and many more. There are also 5 challenging "mythical" animals that you can hunt within Yara.
In Far Cry 6, you are still able to skin the animals, just without an animation. Just like in Far Cry 5 and Far Cry New Dawn, you can not use the animal skins to craft upgrades. However, you can now use animal meat to craft food items that give the player a perk for a duration of time.
