“Stone killer. Tough SOB. Land in a pub fight, make sure Bilders is on your side.
Says he spent 5 hard years in The Maze prison. Worst shithole outside Africa.
Rumor he was kneecapped while behind bars. Explains the brace.”
— Journal Description
Frank Bilders was born in Northern Ireland. He was raised in the political turbulence that was Belfast, and his father was given a life sentence for IRA activity only a month after Frank's birth.
A notorious vandal and rioter, Bilders joined the IRA when he was only 16, and began his career smuggling arms, cigarettes and laundered fuel through the border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland with a fake driver's license on funds-raising operations. At 19, Frank was offered a spot as a member of the DAAD (Direct-Action-Against-Drugs) branch of the IRA. He was involved in 3 shootings, 11 knee-cappings and 23 beatings between '91 and '94.
He was arrested for "membership in a proscribed group" and given 5 years in Her Majesty's Prison Maze, where loyalists and republicans had highly militarized their respective wings of the prison, and was linked to 4 brutal murders of loyalist inmates while incarcerated. His time behind bars ended when he was pinned-down and kneecapped with a power drill by rival inmates, while working penal labor in a machine shop.
After 5 months in physical rehab and a knee brace, Frank was approached by officers of the Special Branch of the RUC who promised him money, amnesty and a plane ticket out of Ireland in exchange for information that might extend the sentences of some of the prison's more dangerous inmates. Bilders complied and left his home country for good. Between 1995 and 2001 Bilders was involved in sex trafficking, drug trafficking, arms trafficking, organ trafficking and money laundering in Morocco, Spain, Yemen, Chechnya and the former Yugoslavia. Immediately following 9/11, Bilders briefly attempted to retire in South Africa.
During the progress of the game, Frank may ask you to do a couple of favors for him.
- The badge on Frank Bilders' jacket is a GAA Badge. This means he may be keen on Gaelic games (Gaelic football and hurling).
- When playing as Frank, his appearance is quite different. His knee brace can not be seen and he is wearing long pants. This is either an oversight, or his brace is hidden under his pants' leg. Additionally, his jacket is rolled up to his biceps, revealing various bracelets on his arms.
- Frank wields the SPAS-12 shotgun in combat whenever he appears.
