Grant Brody is the older brother of Jason and Riley Brody and a minor but key character in Far Cry 3.

Biography

Early life

Not much is known about Grant's life except that he was born in 1982. He joined the United States Army Reserves and was on his high school and college swimming teams. While he was in the Army, he was training for the national swim team. While on tour, his unit was startled when they thought was an attack on their camp, but was actually a cow stepping on a land mine. Before dying, his father asked Grant to look after his brothers. During their vacation on the Rook islands they were captured by Vaas Montenegro's pirates.

Events of Far Cry 3

During the mission Mushrooms in the Deep Jason hears Grant's voice in a hallucination saying that he (Jason) is an excellent shooter, implying that Grant taught Jason his skills in gunplay.

During the mission All In Grant is seen on a TV.

During the optional experience The Social Club, after taking drugs, Jason has a vivid flashback to a nightclub his group had visited earlier in their tropical vacation, and sees Grant there alive.

Trivia

• When Vaas tells Jason to run, if the player returns to see Grant, he will still be blinking.
• Grant has blue eyes, unlike his brothers Jason and Riley who have green and brown eyes respectively.
• Grant is the only one of Jason's group who dies despite player's choice.
• It can be learned from Liza's entry to the handbook that she initially fell for Grant's togetherness, but instead fell in love with his brother Jason.
• The player doesn't have to hold any button to stop the bleeding, as he will bleed out anyway.
• He is the only person in the group that has combat experience.
• In Far Cry 4, Radio Free Kyrat DJ Rabi Ray Rana wears a yellow variant of Grant's shirt.
