Ignacio Corso, also known as El Calavera, was a pirate captain who ruled Yara.
Biography[]
Ignacio Corso was the son of a Spanish nobleman but was exiled from his father's will after being exposed for piracy. He gained a fearsome reputation under the nickname "El Calavera" and pillaged the West Indies. Calavera eventually settled in Yara and declared himself its king. He eventually collected the legendary explosive-firing flintlock, La Petite Mort, from a dead French captain. Corso would soon meet a woman who would change his life forever, Gwendoline Pike.
Pike, also known as "Whiskey Gwen," was a privateer captain tasked by the Crown of England to kill or capture El Calavera in 1693. They encountered each other and fell madly, even unhealthily, in love. They drank and pillaged the north of Nassau together as a fearsome, unstoppable duo. Gwen felt he was becoming soft as a fearsome pirate captain and began a brief affair with a British captain to draw his ire. Calavera walked in on the two of them making love and murdered him on the spot and had a fierce fight with Gwen.
In 1694, they reconciled soon after the fight and Ignacio proposed marriage to her. She accepted but wanted to share his legendary firearm after they were married. He refused this and told her she would be satisfied bearing a child instead. Gwen grew angry by this and stole the gun. Corso declared that anyone who fired the weapon would die as well. Gwen shot El Calavera with the flintlock but it misfired back at her as well.
Their story and deaths would become legendary in Yara. There was an amusement park in a cave that shows their story and displays La Petite Mort but it was shut down by the FND. Dani can investigate the site and take the former gun of El Calavera.
