Lost Between Worlds is the fourth DLC to be released for Far Cry 6. It was released on December 6th, 2022.
The release of this DLC brings a new and powerful gearset to the main game of Far Cry 6. This includes a new outfit for Dani to wear and a bunch of new weapons that you can acquire by completing Lost Between Worlds.
Plot[]
A mysterious object crash-lands into the woods and Dani Rojas investigates the site of the crash. A glowing ball emerges from the crater and starts firing lasers at the surrounding area so Dani, out of fear, shoots the ball. The bullet hits the ball causing a strange reaction and then ultimately an explosion that consumes Dani. Dani then wakes up in a strange place and believes that they are dead. Suddenly, a glowing orb flies up to them and says that they were indeed dead but it brought them back to life. It then explains that they are a noncorporeal extraterrestrial consciousness and that Dani destroyed its vessel so they are now stuck in a containment protocol and won't be freed for five-million Earth years. The alien also gives its name to Dani but the human brain can't comprehend it so Dani just calls it "Fai".
Fai says they are currently stuck in an encasement that was created by the vessel's containment protocol to protect itself and the rifts from the outside world. The rifts are simulations of planetary phenomena that are meant for studying but because of Dani shooting the vessel, the rifts are now fractured. Five shards of the vessel are scattered throughout the rifts and in order to escape the encasement Dani will have to find them and repair the vessel.
Gameplay[]
The gameplay of Far Cry 6: Lost Between Worlds is somewhat similar to that of the previous Villains DLC because when you die, you'll have to restart from the beginning. You could also use the glints that you have collected to restart the rift that you died within instead of going all the way back to the encasement. You must travel between 15 different rifts to collect the 5 shards to repair the vessel. Each rift presents a different challenge or environment that you'll have to conquer. For example, one is almost entirely underwater and you'll have to avoid sea mines and fight off sharks.
You will also have to find weapon cases that are somewhere within the rifts and each one will either give you a gun or a gadget that you will be able to use until you return to the encasement. Then you will lose all of the gear you have collected and will have to restart your armory. Enemies come in two different colors, red and blue, you will have to switch your weapon to the matching color in order to damage the enemy that you are targeting otherwise it will be ineffective. As you progress through the story, you unlock gear that will help you create shortcuts through the rifts and you will also gain pieces of an outfit that you'll be able to wear in the main game.
