Midnight Mountains Mine is a Terminal Mission in Far Cry 5 DLC Lost On Mars. This is the first mission that involves killing a Queen Arachnid. This is also part of the side mission Queen Challenge.
Objectives[]
- Go to the Mine.
- Destroy Eggs and Nests, Kill Arachnids.
- Kill Arachnid Queen.
- Eliminate the Queen and Retrieve the Energy Core.
- Reboot the Terminal.
Walkthrough[]
Once the player gets close to the mine, several waves of arachnid will spawn. After killing several, the Queen will spawn. The entrance to the mine will not be available until she is dead. There are two platforms with bandages if needed. One is close to the ground, the other is on top of the tallest tower near the mine. After the Queen reaches about half health, she will run back into the mine. Kill a few more arachnids to draw her back out, then finish her off. Watch for her teal colored poison. It will drain Nick's energy belt and he will be unable to fly or hover.
Hovering while throwing explosives or crabnmones and firing weapons is probably the easiest way to deal with the arachnid groups as the backsides are better exposed to the player from above. The tower can be used as a vantage point as well.
After the queen is dead, the entrance to the mine is usable. Killing a queen will cause the arachnids to stay in hiding for a while, so take the time to explore the area and find items.
