Overview | Far Cry 4 | Far Cry 5 | New Dawn | Far Cry 6 |
---|
The SA-50 returns again for Far Cry 6, being renamed to the M6 Lynx. Unlike in previous appearances, the M6 Lynx is only obtainable as a variant. The M6 Lynx can be obtained via the E.V.A variant, which is obtained as a reward for completing a Insurgency, or the Alpha Wolf variant, which can be bought in the Ghost Recon: Breakpoint bundle from the store, or separately in Lola's black market as a premium item for 1,000 moneda. There is the option to change the appearance of the weapon into the standard skin, which closely resembles the model seen in Far Cry 5.
The M6 Lynx plays similarly to its previous appearances, being a semi-automatic sniper rifle that has near-identical stopping power to the MBP .50, although unlike in Far Cry 5, the M6 Lynx uses standard sniper rifle ammo rather then .50 cal. The M6 Lynx can equip attachments that the MBP .50 can, including various scopes, muzzles, ammo types, laser sights and side-mounted sights.

Trivia[]
- The SA-50 is based on the Hungarian Gepard M6 Lynx anti-materiel rifle, which is chambered in fifty caliber / 12.7 millimeter rounds.[1]
- The "telescoping" animation is true to life, as the real-life M6 Lynx uses long recoil to cycle the bolt.
- The flavor text of the SA-50 in Far Cry 5 references the notorious warning label found on male enhancement pills.
- The text of the "Free State" variant makes reference to the text of the American Bill of Rights' Second Amendment, which states: "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."[2]
