Search and Rescue is a story mission in Far Cry 5. It takes place in Jacob Seed's region of Whitetail Mountains. Players will receive this mission automatically from Eli via radio.

Walkthrough[]
Search and Rescue is a hostage recovery mission, similar to Serve and Protect and The Scattered Flock in Faith and John's regions. Completing this mission just requires the player to find and release hostages. Hostages can be located while players are on other side missions or just exploring. Finding cultists doing their 'baptisms' along the river shores, or cultists stopping vehicles and capturing the civilians on main roads.
Use stealth when taking care of any hostage situation as dead citizens fail missions, and alerted cultists will kill them in a hurry. Avoid shooting anything flammable as the explosions could inadvertently kill the hostages as well.
Once 20 hostages are freed, Eli will radio the deputy which will finish the mission.
