Slingshot is a weapon appearing in Far Cry 5 and Far Cry New Dawn.
Far Cry 5[]
The weapon makes an appearance at the end of the side mission Testy Festy, where the player will be given the chance to play a mini-game where they shoot a number of balloons with a slingshot. As The Junior Deputy has consumed a shot of liquor beforehand, the controls in this mini-game will be wobbly.
Characteristics[]
The slingshot is a silent non-firearm weapon similar to the Compound Bow and Recurve Bow, however, it differs from the bows it that the weapon can be loaded with either the default ammunition of rocks or arrows by switching the ammo type in a manner similar to that of other weapons. When loaded with rocks, the slingshot has infinite ammunition, but does far less damage, however, it can still kill a lower-level cultist with a single headshot when fully drawn back.
If it strikes an enemy in the body, it will simply bounce off and likely alert them to the player's presence. When loaded with arrows, the slingshot behaves similarly to a bow, with an arrow being able to kill most cultists (except heavies) with a single shot to the head and or body when fully drawn back.
Far Cry New Dawn[]
